| The Beauty Business You
would be hard-pressed to guess that petite, youthful-looking Susan has
more than 20 years of industry experience under her belt. As general
manager of THE salon, Susan is involved in the day-to-day operations while
taking care of the business and promotional activities of the
establishment. Yet Susan remains very much in touch with her original
passion - she still manages to find time to provide her service as a
make-up consultant
Getting Immersed
Having a passion for "making people look good", Susan
spent the first thirteen years of her career with a leading Japanese cosmetics house as a
Beauty Consultant and Assistant Trainer. "I loved the job and it has given me a lot
of media make-up exposure in top local fashion magazines such as Female, Her World and
fashion show assignment etc. I love working with cosmetics, but after more than ten
years, I needed a new challenge. Here at THE salon I got entrusted to
handle public relations and still being able to have the opportunity to work with
make-up."
The Hair Connection
Originally a client of another stylist, it was an eventful
discussion with Georgie years ago that convinced Susan that THE
salon
would provide her with new challenges within the beauty industry.
From PR to Promotions to Personnel
As the general manager of THE salon, Susan can be
found moving tirelessly throughout the salon for a host of purposes. "It can be
tremendously exhausting sometimes," she admits, "but at the end of the day,
its extremely rewarding!"
Make-Up Magic
In addition to the list of duties at THE salon,
Susan is involved in doing make-up for the salons in-house photo shoots and her
regular clients. She has also had the opportunity to work on local and overseas
celebrities such as Kym Ng, Lisa Ang, Christy Chung etc.
Rest and Relaxation
At the end of each hectic week, Susan looks forward to catching up
with good friends for dinners, drinks and good, meaningful conversation.
Weekends you can find house-proud Susan pottering about her home and tending to her
plants, or spending quality time with her husband and their families. |
